Important Store News!

Our New Orleans location has reopened in the Riverwalk, located between the Hilton Hotel and the Convention Center along the Mississippi River. Hurricane Katrina forced us to close our number one store, but downtown New Orleans has made a huge comeback and we're ready to be a part of that. If you haven't been to New Orleans lately, you'll be surprised to find that the French Quarter and downtown looks cleaner than ever with most stores, hotels, etc...open and doing business.

Thanks to the Riverwalk, we've been given the first space at the entrance to the mall with visibility to the Aquarium, the Casino, and the Hilton. We'd love to see you. Past customers might even recognize a few familiar faces who have agreed to return to their old jobs.

Unfortunately, we had to close our Las Vegas store. We opened there post-Katrina and signed a series of one-year, temporary leases while we waited to re-open in New Orleans. Business was great, and we enjoyed meeting a lot of new faces. But the Miracle Mile mall (Planet Hollywood) was focused on a hip, young retailing concept, and A Simpler Time probably didn't make a great fit. We thank Miracle Mile for giving us a great location for almost four years, and we'll be keeping our eye out for a permanent location on the Strip in the future.

The Smile Train

At A Simpler Time, which celebrates the innocence of childhood, we feel it's important to give something back to kids who aren't as fortunate. We have chosen to support The Smile Train (www.smiletrain.org), a top-notch charity that conducts cleft palate surgeries on thousands of third world children every year. To date, almost 300,000 children have seen their lives changed by The Smile Train. Instead of being social outcasts facing lives of begging, these children have a chance to live a normal life. With major sponsors covering all advertising overhead, almost every dollar you donate goes to performing a surgery!

A Simpler Time donates $1 for every online order to this wonderful charity, and so far (thanks to you!) the lives of 19 children have been changed forever!
