Many artists have given us their rendition of Noah’s Ark, but few (if any) have done so with such a whimsical attitude combined with a sense of humor. “It’s a Zoo In There” by Michael Dudash depicts a fairly organized moving in day being organized by Noah himself, with clearly marked doors for various animal types. Between kangaroos being raised up in woven baskets and polar bears pulling brown bears in wooden carts, it’s a scene only Dudash could have dreamed up. By laminating the limited edition paper print to a Masonite board and brushing on a very thin layer of lacquer, we’re able to frame without glass (read “no glare”) and make it display like an original painting. Like the original, we’ve surrounded with a linen liner and a three inch wide dark cherry look molding. At over three feet wide, the final result is an impressive piece that visitors will notice…then spend a long time pointing out details.
